Belarus-Germany economic forum held in Luenen
MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – A Belarus-Germany economic forum took place in the German town of Luenen on 1 October. The event was the centerpiece of the Belarus Days in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Germany.
The Belarusian delegation included senior officials of the Economy Ministry, Housing and Utilities Ministry, companies and organizations providing public utility services, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, free economic zones Brest and Minsk. They told German counterparts about business terms and conditions in Belarus and new opportunities for foreign investors in various economic sectors of Belarus. They highlighted successful investment projects funded by German capital and emphasized the great potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in the manufacturing industry.
The event was arranged under the auspices of REMONDIS, one of the world's largest recycling, service and water companies, as well as the Belarus-Germany Business Cooperation Council, the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations - German Eastern Europe Business Association, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Belarusian Embassy in Germany.
The Belarusian delegation toured several waste treatment enterprises and held talks with companies interested in implementing an investment project to introduce a deposit return scheme for single-use containers.
